Terms of Use

Last updated 9 September 2026

By using ABDA ("the app") you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

What the app is

ABDA is an independent, third-party client for forums that run the Discourse software. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or supported by the makers of Discourse or by any forum it can open. Discourse is a trademark of Civilized Discourse Construction Kit, Inc.

Forums have their own rules

Everything you read or post through the app lives on the forum you are using. Each forum's terms, rules, moderation and privacy policy apply to you there. A forum may block or limit third-party apps at its discretion; we cannot change that.

Your account and sign-in

The app has no accounts of its own. When you sign in to a forum, the forum issues the app a key on your behalf. You are responsible for what is done with that key on your device. Sign out to revoke it.

Acceptable use

Do not use the app to break a forum's rules, to harass others, to send spam, or to access a forum in a way its operators have not permitted. Do not attempt to interfere with the app's notification relay.

Open source

The app is built on the open-source project discourse-app, which is licensed under the MIT License. That licence governs the source code; these terms govern your use of the published app.

No warranty

The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. Forums change their software and settings, and features that work today may stop working. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from use of the app.

Changes

We may update these terms and the app from time to time. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
